Their Story
Salt of the Earth started in Bali in 2023, born out of a group of surfers and fitness people who wanted something better to drink after long sessions in the water. Founder Sean McDonnell, who trained at the Gatorade Sports Science lab, built the formula with that same rigor, and the result is an electrolyte stick pack with 3,300mg of electrolytes per serving, using Pink Himalayan Salt as the sodium source and no added sugars.

Bitcoin Roots
Before launching Salt of the Earth, Sean McDonnell was on the ground in El Salvador during the country's Bitcoin rollout, working through the real-world challenges of getting Bitcoin adopted at street level. That experience shaped who he is as a founder, and it shows up in how he runs the business: the store accepts Bitcoin for one-time purchases at checkout.
